Going Back and Giving Back: Project READ

As our 10th Reunion Community Service opportunity, Project Read to help others as you head back to campus. The project supports local Princeton kids education and activities through two organizations: Princeton Community House and the Princeton-Blairstown Center.

There are multiple ways you can participate!

  1. Donate books to the Community House for their kids' summer reading program. Have the books they need to read shipped directly to Community House by choosing one or more from the Amazon wish list. Or, purchase the book elsewhere and bring to the registration table the weekend of reunions. Used books in "good" condition or better will also be welcome.
  2. See Community House for yourself. Join us Saturday morning (June 3rd) from 10am to 11:30am to help organize new and old books in the library. We also may have a chance to meet the kids who will be reading the books, and help them get started with them. Located on Clay Street, Community House is just 8 blocks from campus, and we'll be done in time to head to the class lunch at noon (MapQuest map).
  3. Have the class purchase and deliver the books for you. Donate funds for the books you would like to give. Any funds over and above what is needed for the reading program will go towards sending the kids to a week-long camp in August through the Princeton-Blairstown Center.
